Michele Garber, MPH Mrs.
Garber is an environmental scientist at
HSWMR. Mrs.
Garber received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from
Florida State University in 1994. She received her Masters in
Public Health from the University of South Florida in 1997.
Mrs.
Garber then completed graduate coursework and research in the area of
Environmental Toxicology at Florida A&M University.
Prior to
joining HSWMR, Mrs. Garber completed two internships with the
Department of Health. In the first internship, she prepared
six
site review and update reports on public health assessments of
Superfund sites in Florida. In the second, she worked with
the
Childhood Lead Poisoning Surveillance and Prevention
Program. From 2002 to 2005, she served with the
Florida
Department of Law Enforcement as a Forensic Technologist and Crime
Laboratory Analyst in the Toxicology and Chemistry sections of the
Crime Laboratory. Her duties included screening blood and
urine
samples for controlled substances using two immunoassay instruments and
receiving and analyzing suspected drug evidence for the presence or
absence of controlled substances using Gas Chromatography, Mass
Spectrometry and Infrared Spectroscopy. She has also provided
expert testimony in the area of drug identification over 20 times.
Since joining HSWMR in 2005, Mrs. Garber has worked primarily in the
area of environmental litigation providing scientific support for human
health exposures, including analysis of scientific reports, laboratory
data, and risk assessments. |
